As our lead psychologist, Josh brings special expertise to our Organizational Development, Coaching, Assessment and Career Management practices. Josh advises leaders and facilitates team development to help organizations achieve critical objectives. He coaches senior executives in leadership skills including communication, negotiating/influencing, network and relationship management, team building and stress management. His focus on these skills consistently increases his clients’ impact within their organizations. He also provides career management coaching to help individuals prepare for advancement opportunities and transition into new roles. Josh has a special expertise in stress management. His research at Yale and New York University and numerous articles have clarified the psychological and physiological mechanisms by which stress impairs effectiveness. Josh works with his clients to develop their resilience to stress through mindfulness training. This discipline is invaluable for optimizing concentration, strategic thinking and creative problem-solving. An in-depth assessment of leadership competencies is fundamental to all of BeamPines’ services. Josh directs the BeamPines Assessment Division and develops state-of-the-art assessment tools including online and multi-rater feedback instruments for both individuals and teams. He integrates assessment data into a comprehensive picture and provides practical suggestions for development. Josh heads up our Educational Services Division which provides advanced training in coaching and mentoring. Josh is the Dean and founder of the BeamPines | Middlesex University Master's Progam in Executive Coaching, the first graduate program in the United States to offer advanced degrees in executive coaching. The program leverages BeamPines’ decades of experience and establishes a higher level of standards, training and credentialing for the field. The program is part of an international consortium of Centers of Excellence in Executive Coaching. Josh holds a BA from Yale University,
where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with Distinction in Psychology, and
received his MA and Ph.D. from New York University in Clinical Psychology.
He is a member of The Metropolitan Association for Applied Psychology,
The New York State Psychological Association and The American Psychological
