Building on a technology consulting and implementation role, Matt Dower has specialized in technology-delivered distributed learning since mid 1996. After becoming involved with the development of collaborative and communication-based systems, he conducted a Europe-wide market survey for Lotus/IBM. Realizing its potential, he founded a specialist learning technology company and became involved in many early Internet learning projects world-wide. A wide range of clients has included Henley Management College, The Open University Business School, Deutsche Bank and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Matt leads a team with skills ranging from on-line learning theory and practice to the specialist technical skills to develop and deploy communication-rich courses, research forums and learning support environments. Matt and his team have many times been contracted by Lotus and IBM to provide specialist development and deployment services. Matt’s diverse experience has included running an outdoor leadership development centre, leading a British Himalayan climbing expedition and commanding a British Army Engineering Squadron which carried out the immediate repair of critical infrastructure in Kuwait City at the end of the Gulf War. Matt studied Management at
the Army Staff College and Manchester Business School. A graduate in Zoology
from Durham University, Matt also studied Engineering at the Royal Military
School of Engineering. In addition, he has studied and instructed in many
outdoor activities and sports. |
